I began my volunteer rescue work in 2018 after taking in an abandoned kitten left at my doorstep. That single experience opened my eyes to the incredible need for community cat support, but it also taught me something much deeper: caring for a vulnerable animal transforms us.
My mission with Tiny Whiskers goes beyond just sharing rescue protocols; it is about reshaping how our community views and interacts with the animals who share our neighborhoods. I believe that education is the most powerful tool we have. Through this platform, I want to highlight the deeply positive role cats play in our lives. They do so much more than simply coexist with us. They are vital to our psychological health. The presence of a cat can reduce stress, ease loneliness, and bring a profound sense of calm and companionship to our daily routines.
A core part of my vision is to teach the next generation to love and respect animals. When we teach kids how to gently interact with a cat, or show them the dedication it takes to care for an animal in need, we are instilling lifelong lessons in empathy and compassion. Children who learn to advocate for animals grow into adults who advocate for their communities.
Ultimately, Tiny Whiskers is here to turn that compassion into action. I want to equip fellow volunteers and everyday citizens with the practical knowledge they need to make a real difference. Whether it is learning the delicate, round-the-clock commitment required for neonatal orphan kitten care, understanding basic feline health, or implementing safe Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) practices to humanely manage outdoor populations, this site is designed to be your guide.
Together, we can build a community where every cat is valued, and every volunteer has the resources they need to save lives.
