3. Care & Welfare Agreement

Please check each box to acknowledge your understanding and commitment:

Spay/Neuter Requirement: I agree to have the cat spayed or neutered by the appropriate age (usually around 4–6 months) if it has not already been done prior to adoption. I will provide proof of the procedure to the rescuer.

Veterinary Care: I agree to provide routine veterinary care, including keeping all necessary vaccinations up to date and seeking immediate medical attention if the cat becomes ill or injured.

Daily Needs & Treatment: I agree to treat the cat with love and respect as a family member. I will provide a safe indoor environment, fresh water daily, high-quality cat food, and a clean litter box.

Strictly Indoors / No Street Abandonment: I understand that this rescued cat cannot survive on the streets. I agree that the cat will be kept indoors and will never be abandoned outdoors, left behind on the street, or released into a feral colony.

Vacations & Travel: If I go on vacation or leave town for any period, I agree to arrange proper care for the cat by hiring a professional pet sitter, boarding them at a reputable facility, or leaving them with a responsible and trusted friend or family member.

Relocation / Leaving the Country: I view this adoption as a lifetime commitment. If I relocate or leave the country, I will make every possible effort to take the cat with me. If taking the cat is entirely impossible due to severe logistical or legal constraints, I agree to hand the cat over to a highly responsible, thoroughly vetted person, and I will notify the rescuer of this change.

Updates & Wellbeing: I agree to provide the volunteer rescuer with periodic updates, including photos and general news about the cat’s wellbeing, especially during the first few months of adoption.

4. Additional Commitments

Adjustment Period: I understand that a new cat may take time to adjust to a new environment, people, and other pets. I agree to be patient and allow the cat at least a few weeks to decompress and settle in.

Return Policy: If, for any unforeseen reason, I can no longer care for the cat, I agree not to surrender the cat to an open-admission shelter, abandon it, or give it away to a stranger online. I will contact the rescuer first to discuss returning the cat or receiving assistance in finding a safe, approved alternative home.

Declawing: I agree that I will never have the cat cosmetically declawed, as it is an inhumane amputation procedure.
